I know it’s been a while since I posted any new pages, but I try to keep up. It’s not easy, with a nerve disease and so much going on in my life. I’ve worked on 4 new pages today, getting some of the C’s in the kitchen up, but there’s so much more to do. I will attempt to get more up in the coming days. Thanks to all who have commented on my posts, and all of you who have found this site useful. I’ve hoped that we all can benefit from the site, and the knowledge it imparts. I seek the truth. I’ll be working on the site as much as I can, but I also have other projects going on. (I’ve got to get another pattern posted on my crochet site, and organize my life, and move to a bigger home, and make sure everything gets settled.) So, I’ll be trying to post as much as I can, as often as I can.
I’m in the process of writing a book, one I choose to believe will change how the rest of the world see the world cats live in. They share the planet we live on, they were bred to be companion animals, and now they’re being exterminated by the thousands for being where humans have put them: on the street, in the park, lost, homeless, feral. I’m including an excerpt from the book, and I’m leaving comments open for this one. I want to hear what you have to say about this.
Check out the excerpt I put here.
This book is written from the cat’s point of view. There are numerous ways to have pet cats, some of which don’t involve having a house for the cats to live in. Managed colonies of these feral cats can live as long as 10-15 years, in some cases. The managed colony the cats in my book are from, have numerous caretakers, which will be introduced in other places in the book. The names of the cats have been translated into the closest approximation of human speech we have.
Pets, the companion animals of our lives, and often the only family we have, are so important that I have decided to add a few pages on them. Each type of pet is highlighted with their own page, and there’s two for dogs, because there are so many dog owners out there. Dogs are the most popular pet, and the research page I did on dogs is simply packed with information. The “ripped article” is really a snippet from a much longer article regarding a holistic approach from a veterinarian’s point of view. I signed up for his newsletter, and I have gathered a lot of information on a holistic approach to pet care and many other bits of information I had no idea I didn’t know. I feel that it’s very important to everyone who has a companion animal to read this, and sign up for his list, buy the book, and read it, cover-to-cover. It’s comprehensive, and critically important to pet owners. The rest of the information is presented on an as-is basis, stuff I researched and found on the internet that may or may not be available to you. I’m rather particular, and I admit to this, so be sure I have looked for the best information available, and have published it here on this site, with the appropriate links to the original sites. Research is very important when dealing with questions to which we need the right answers, and to that end, I have provided as many of the right answers as I could find. Enjoy the site, and know that I am not the only resource for this, but I try to give the very best information available to the public.
There have been a lot of commercials on television lately regarding the ways people can improve their health with herbal supplements and diet aids. I have to admit, I’ve been awake at 3 am reading articles on the internet and an infomercial will come on the television that catches my attention. Lately, though, much more recently, I have seen commercials on the television late at night that practically beg to be researched, and one was regarding Stevia, a plant that has a natural extract from it that has no calories, or such a minute amount that you’d have to consume massive amounts of it to get any caloric amount from it. It’s also 300 times sweeter than sugar, which means you use less of it, you benefit greatly from it, and it’s considered both safe and unsafe, depending on how it’s packaged and sold. Yeah, I looked it up. The stuff that comes from the stevia leaf is not only good for you, but is marketed in Brazil as an anti-diabetic supplement, and has been used in Japan for 30 years, China for nearly that, and Paraguay for 1500 years. It’s safe and effective for sweetening teas, coffee, and other foods, but the FDA is determined to keep this stuff out of mass production. Gee, I wonder why. So, since I have a coffee addiction, and literally go bonkers without it, I’m switching to stevia for my sweetener. I have hypoglycemia (my blood sugar crashes without sugar) and this stuff has been proven to reduce or eliminate not just diabetes but also it’s exact opposite, hypoglycemia,(in other countries) I’m definitely switching to something I can count on to reduce or eliminate my need for sugar. Lovely stuff, and a lovely plant. It’s got a few difficulties, like it’s difficult to get viable seeds (I have that page bookmarked, you can be sure, and the link is on my stevia page), it’s expensive to purchase root stock cuttings, and they’re difficult to find, but hey, if you’ve got it, even if it’s for sale, let me know, and I’ll link to it or put your contact info on my site so you can have customers. This is a great herb, and a natural healer.
Earth Herbal is dedicated to improving the lives of our people and planet by highlighting and showcasing the natural, herbal cures located here on our planet, learning to care for them, grow them, and use them properly. There are some warnings about some herbs, those which should be left alone if growing in the wild, and those which should not be used in any setting. In fact, some herbs can cause harm if they are touched, so be aware that these herbs are listed on our “Herbal Safety” page. This page will get updated regularly, since there are many wild herbs that are new, or recently discovered, and have been used inappropriately. We aim to the highest standard of research and discovery, and must, for that reason, disclaim any suggestions for trying this at home. Everyone, not knowing the exact chemistry of their own bodies, must use herbs, chemicals, and medicines at their own risk, and we can assume no liability for any uses. That ends our disclaimer, and so, should you agree that you will not make us pay if you do something and get sick from it, go ahead, look the site over. We’re going to discover some wondrous herbs together! We look for everything herbal, including some gardening methods, certain soil mixtures in which plants grow best, the plants themselves, and their uses, and many unique factors and trivia resulting from such research.
We then post it all here, and you find it and discover something new and wondrous about our planet.
Go green, and save the planet.
